Celebrate Film. Celebrate Culture. Celebrate them together. For a cinema celebration here in town, Gilt City members are invited to the very first Singa Asian Film Festival from September 29 ? October 2 at Westwood?s Bigfoot Crest Theatre. You?ll help celebrate new and classic Asian and Asian-American cinema from China, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, the U.S. and more.

We?ve teamed up with Sapporo Beer, TY KU, LA WEEKLY, KCRW, CAPE, Pop Chips, Sushi Poppers, Seoul Sausage, Otafuku, and the list goes on?. Red carpet film premieres, celebs, complimentary asian tapas, after parties, and industry mixers?
Films will include features, shorts, documentaries, 3-D and animation. Seminar panels bring in visiting filmmakers and Hollywood industry pros.
You don?t want to miss the special tribute to the greatest?figure in martial arts movie history alongside Bruce Lee, Sonny Chiba (he played swordmaker Hattori Hanzo in ?Kill Bill Vol. 1?).? He will present one of his personal favorite films, ?Samurai Reincarnation?. (We love Bruce Lee so much we even made a tee after him)
Producer/Director Eli Roth (?Hostel?, ?Cabin Fever?) will present a selection of his favorite overlooked Asian movie, ?Beat? Takeshi Kitano?s most obscure gem, the riotous 1994 comedy ?Getting Any??.
The closing night screening is the red carpet premiere of a controversial new thriller called ?The Girl With No Number? about Vietnam?s sex trade.
